In the early years of his career, Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters founder, was part of D.C.-area hardcore band Scream as their drummer. After Scream's 1990 summer tour, Grohl joined Nirvana and moved to Seattle. Later on, after the death of Kurt Cobain, instead of embarking on a solo career, Grohl decided to form a band and called it Foo fighters.
